Mary Rose Wilcox has been making cracks in Arizona’s glass ceiling for 31 years. From championing immigration reform and fighting against Sherifff Joe Arpaio’s racial profiling, to standing up for public safety in poor communities plagued by gang violence, Mary Rose is not afraid to tackle difficult issues head on.

U.S. House of Representatives – Arizona’s 7th Congressional District – Open Seat. Mary Rose is the only woman in 5-way Democratic primary. If elected, she will be the first Latina to represent Arizona in Congress.

Mary Rose is the first Hispanic woman to serve on the Phoenix City Council as well as the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors.

She created numerous programs to strengthen families, communities and the homeless, including a “Late Night Basketball Program” designed to keep kids off the streets.

Mary Rose spearheaded the revitalizing of downtown Phoenix by cast the deciding votes to fund the America West Arena and Chase Field Ballpark.

She is leading the efforts in ushering in the Solar Energy Industry in Maricopa County.

Starting in 1982, Mary Rose was elected for four consecutive terms to the City of Phoenix City Council.

In 1992, she was elected to the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. She is currently serving her 5th term.
