Betty got her start in finance at a young age by handling the financial transactions for the laundry and dry cleaning business of her immigrant, non-English speaking parents. She got her start in politics at age 13, representing the few Chinese American families in the neighborhood at a local school board meeting. She understands the role of finance in public policy and believes politics is about giving voice to issues and concerns, especially for those who do not have a voice or whose voice is muted. |
